Customizing

This is my pride and joy. My 1991 Indy trail, bought new by my father, is the only reason I look forward to snow. This fall, I spent only 200 dollars;give or take fifty. This just goes to show that you can personalize your sled without spending your life savings! The process is easy, just take your time and do it the way you want it.

The Process

To customize your sled, think about what you like. Ask yourself questions like: What color is my sled? What colors would look good with it and how would they compliment the color of the sled?

If your sled is grey like mine, you might want to chose a color that you really like, and that would look good. Take the color, in this case red, and base the project on that color. If screen kits are standard, paint them. Give your sled a new attitude with some color. If you chose a good color, it will magnify the sleds "personality." If the sled does not come standard with screen kits, you can buy a kit for only about $20.00.

Next options: You can buy the little things which, in my opinion, do the same as the big stuff: like adding winshield trim($3.00), running board trim($10.00), and bumper covers($6.00). Idler wheels also add a nice touch and can be bought for only $20.00. I added a skid plate($70.00) and ski skins($50.00), both made of high quality plastic, which adds strenth and good looks to your sled. The plastic is much stronger than regular metal skis, don't bent, and can be installed in minutes. The skid plate mounts quickly with fifteen rivets and will save your belly pan from rocks and stumps in the trail.

As you can see, a customized sled can cost you only about $200.00!I recommend that you buy your products from Sno-Stuff. The most important things to remember:Chose a color and work with it. Be creative and have fun!
